The Canopy Garage Door operates in vertical tracks on the side frame, normally with a single cable and spring operated. As it opens it pivots needing approximately 800mm clearance – the door then forms a canopy as it slides into the garage roof.
Canopy Garage Doors are also available unframed without the track frames for installation to existing timber frames or a factory fitted steel frame which Up&Over can supply.
The door swings out and retracts back fully into the garage along the roof line on horizontal tracks. This is the default option for those who want a motorised door, a ‘tenant-proof’ door or larger doors which have retractable gear as standard.
With Retractable Garage Doors the circular pivot means taking up some driveway space. A frame of 75mm x 75mmm is used.
Up & Over Doors are available in the widest range of colours and styles, both very modern and very traditional. With 18 standard colours to choose from most bases are covered but for those with a specific need we can have the doors sprayed ourselves to any RAL or BS colour.
Whether you want the door in natural timber or the super realistic timber effects offered by GRP or foil-coated steel, your request can be accommodated. Whether from an off-the-shelf range or custom made, if you can imagine it, we can get it made for you.
Typically we would use an Up & Over door with retractable gear if you want to automate your new door. However, if space or other conditions in the garage will not allow the space for the tracks then doors with canopy gear can be automated.
